Radiant Floor Heating
Radiant floor heating warms your home from the ground up, using electric coils or hot water tubing installed beneath your flooring instead of traditional forced-air vents or radiators. The result is even, comfortable heat throughout the room with no cold spots, no blowing air, and no bulky equipment taking up wall or floor space.
Benefits of radiant floor heating:
- Even, consistent warmth from floor to ceiling
- Quiet operation with no forced-air noise
- Reduces circulated dust and allergens compared to forced-air systems
- Frees up wall space since there are no radiators or vents
- Can improve energy efficiency by heating objects and people directly rather than air
Which flooring works best with radiant heat?
Tile and stone are excellent conductors of heat and are the most common pairing with radiant systems. Engineered hardwood and luxury vinyl plank can also work well, though solid hardwood and thick-padded carpet are more sensitive to temperature changes and require careful planning. Our team can help you choose a flooring option that’s compatible with your heating system.
Because radiant heating is installed beneath the subfloor, it’s easiest to add during new construction or a full floor replacement. Ask us about radiant floor heating options during your next flooring installation.
